Stars of Hope Gig
At the beginning of 2007 a couple of young women took up Stars of Hope as the charity cause of their choice to work with during their final year of secondary school. They started by selling cakes on stalls over a couple of months. They then initiated the idea of setting up a rock concert at their school.
Using the money they raised with selling the cakes they managed to set up the concert within the budget that hey has raised themselves. The concert was supported by teachers, parents and the bands were made up of young talented musicians and singers. The concert attracted around 200 students and the evening raised £1000.
The young entrepreneurs went on and proposed an event at The Princess Pavilion. Stars of Hope set up the venue and dealt with formalalities but the young people took on this challenge and worked woth maturity and professionalism in a team that worked together, covering all angles that go into putting on an event. With budding journalists, designers and organisers the event attracted 400 people and bands of a high standing came to play at the Pavilion and did so with no charges.
