Linet was approximately three years old when she was abandoned by her mother at the largest waste dumping site in Nairobi.

For around seven months Linet lived with the street boys, scavenging for food from the waste left there. The street boys looked after this little girl until she became very ill with a chest infection and was taken to the police station. The police were well aware of the good work being done by Ruth at the Stars of Hope Centre in Ruai, which is how Linet came to be with us. She is relatively new to the centre, having been there less than a year. She smiles continuously, and is doing well at school. She now has a future. We want to ensure that children like Linet always have a home.
